Themed “But when you pray…” the Ten Days of Prayer at MAUM Headquarters concluded with a Holy Communion Celebration. Since the 3rd of January, the MAUM employees have assembled in the auditorium for worship. The workers at the headquarters prayed for an outpouring of the Spirit to transform lives and reignite the power of prayer throughout the previous ten days.
As the tenth day unfolded, President, Pr. Abel Bana led in the devotional reminding the employees change is only attainable through Christ. Alone, one cannot succeed, but only through Christ, as mentioned in 2 Corinthians 5:17. He further unpacked the spiritual significance of the lines in the familiar Lord’s prayer.
Each morning, the employees were encouraged to pray with someone different following an organized format: prayers for the World, Union, Mission, and personal.
The culmination of the Ten Days of Prayer event was the Lord’s Supper, in which all employees collectively participated in foot washing and the taking of bread and wine. It was as a symbolic act and a chance to strengthen bonds amongst one another, and become more intimate with the Lord.
Part of the program was an ordination of deaconesses. Six women, Madam Vivian Bana, Madam Toisah Longgou, Madam Faridah Lausin, Madam Hazel Ginajil, Madam Rozelene and Madam Jiayi were ordained by Pr. Abel Bana, Pr. Nelson Bendah, Pr. Justin Ginsud and Pr. Jim Gabu, marking the first ordination of deaconesses at the HQ this year.
