The MAUM Executive Committee officially appointed Pastor Kozel Watts Malim Enggang, as the Caretaker of the Sabah Mission, effective immediately. The decision was made during the Executive Committee meeting earlier today, July 25.

Pastor Kozel currently serves as the Executive Secretary of the Sabah Mission, a role he has held since January 2025. Prior to this, he served at the Malaysia Union Mission (MAUM) headquarters as Director of Stewardship and Family Ministries. In his new capacity as Caretaker, Pastor Kozel will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the mission. All major decisions will be made in close consultation with the officers of the Malaysia Union Mission.

This appointment follows the recent election of Pastor Jibil Simbah, former President of the Sabah Mission, as the new Southern Asia-Pacific Division Departmental Director for Public Affairs and Religious Liberty/Planned Giving and Trust Services by the SSD Expanded Executive Committee. His appointment took place during the 62nd General Conference Session held in St. Louis, Missouri, USA.
The election of a new leadership team for the Sabah Mission for the next quinquennium is scheduled to take place during the Malaysia Union Mission Session from December 7 to 9, 2025.
