The Malaysia Union Mission (MAUM) and the Southeastern Union Mission (SEUM) marked a significant milestone in regional collaboration by convening their first combined Youth Advisory in Bangkok, Thailand, on July 21–22, 2026. The joint initiative reflected the spirit of unity that once characterized the former Southeast Asia Union Mission (SAUM) before its reorganization to strengthen mission work across the region. Youth directors and program coordinators from the local missions of both Unions gathered to strengthen partnerships, align ministry priorities, and plan for future initiatives.
During the advisory, participants received updates on upcoming General Conference, Southern Asia-Pacific Division (SSD), and Union events, along with key agenda items related to Adventist Youth Ministries. The advisory also introduced new youth initiatives, including LIFE and ERRANDS. Pastor Heshbon Buscato, SSD Youth Ministries Director, chaired the sessions, while Pastor Chaiwat Konratanasak, SEUM Youth Director, assisted and hosted the meeting alongside Elder Farrel Gara, MAUM Youth Director.
Throughout the discussions, the MAUM and SEUM youth leaders reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening collaboration beyond the advisory. They pledged to support one another through future programs and initiatives while creating opportunities to exchange ideas and share effective ministry practices that address the needs of young people in today’s rapidly changing world.
Following the joint advisory, the MAUM Youth Council convened to review its 2027 calendar and finalise preparations for the first MAUM-Wide Youth Congress 2027. The congress, themed “In God Alone,” will be hosted by the Peninsular Malaysia Mission, with additional details to be announced in August.
The advisory concluded with gratitude to God for His guidance and provision throughout the gathering. The youth leaders renewed their commitment to serve the young people of the Malaysia Union Mission and beyond, working together to advance God’s kingdom through united, Christ-centered ministry.
