Announcing MAUM Publishing Ministries Advisor/Consultant

The Malaysia Union Mission is pleased to announce the appointment of Pastor Leonilo Madridondo as the MAUM Publishing Ministries Advisor/Consultant. This decision was made following discussions and recommendations from the leadership of the Southern Asia-Pacific Division’s Publishing Ministries. The MAUM Executive Committee approved Pastor Leonilo’s appointment, which will be in effect from February 1 to December 31, 2026.

Pastor Leonilo’s role will involve training Mission Publishing Directors, a key part of a succession-planning program. He will also work closely with Literature Evangelists throughout the region, providing training and preparing them for the field. This appointment is a strategic move designed to strengthen the publishing ministry and to grow and restore the work of Literature Evangelists in Malaysia.

Originally from the Philippines, Pastor Leonilo Madridondo has extensive experience in the church’s literature and publishing ministry. He is a Credentialed Literature Evangelist, and his history speaks volumes about his ability to lead teams, see projects through to the end, and manage finances effectively. Throughout the 1990s and into the early 2000s, he earned the title of Outstanding Credentialed Literature Evangelist multiple times, as well as awards for his exceptional sales performance. These accomplishments fuelled his commitment to a life devoted entirely to gospel ministry.

Pastor Leonilo held the positions of Credentialed Literature Evangelist and Assistant Publishing Director within the Western Mindanao Conference from 1981 to 2001. From 2002 to 2015, he was a Credentialed Literature Evangelist in the Southern Union Conference, Georgia, USA, consistently ranking among the top sellers in the conference.

In 2016, Pastor Leonilo took on the role of Publishing Director for the North Central Mindanao Conference, a position he held until 2021. The following year, he shifted his focus entirely to pastoral ministry, offering religious services and leading evangelistic crusades, while continuing to stay involved in publishing work. In 2023, the South Philippine Union Conference appointed him Literature Seminary Dean, where he trained and prepared future Literature Evangelists through specialised technical and spiritual instruction. Before taking on this new position, he was the Area Publishing Ministry Leader for the Zamboanga Peninsula Mission, where he managed and guided teams of Literature Evangelists.

Pastor Leonilo earned a Bachelor of Science in Commerce from Universidad de Zamboanga in 1982. He also holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Western Mindanao State University in Zamboanga City, and a Bachelor of Arts in Theology from South Philippine Adventist College, located in Matanao, Digos City, Davao del Sur, Philippines.

The Malaysia Union Mission appreciates the value of Pastor Leonilo’s experience and leadership. They anticipate the positive influence his work will have on boosting the literature and publishing ministries in Malaysia. They kindly ask for your prayers as Pastor Leonilo embarks on this significant undertaking.
