PEM Young Girls’ Ministry Kick-Start Program Concludes with Regional Impact

Engaging young girls in the life of the church is a key priority of the Women’s Ministries Department.  This commitment was clearly demonstrated through the successful completion of the Young Girls’ Ministry Kick-Start Program in the Peninsular Malaysia Mission.

The final session of the three-part regional series was held on July 19 at Petaling Jaya Chinese Church, bringing together 24 vibrant girls and 10 Women’s Ministries leaders and parents from across the Klang Valley. This marked the conclusion of a foundational program that focused on the first two modules of the General Conference’s My Sister, My Friend curriculum: “Who Am I?” and “What’s Up with Me?” Through interactive activities and open discussions, participants explored their identity in Christ, emotional growth, and the importance of healthy self-esteem. Each girl was also encouraged to start a daily habit of speaking positive affirmations grounded in Biblical truth.

The first two sessions were held earlier in the year—on March 15 at Penang SDA Church and on June 21 at Johor Bahru English Church—bringing the total number of participants to 55 young girls across the region. Led by Puan Faridah Lausin, WM director of MAUM, and Miss Christine Tan, WM director of PEM, the initiative has received enthusiastic support from church leaders and parents in the local churches.

The Young Girls’ Ministry Program is part of the Women’s Ministries’ larger mission to raise a generation of confident, Christ-rooted young women who are equipped to serve in their churches and participate in outreach efforts.

Meanwhile, another program for young girls was held on June 8, 2025—the Daughters of Grace: A Mother-Daughter Journey in Christ program at Nexus Resort Karambunai, organized by the Sabah Mission Children’s and Women’s Ministries. With 155 participants, the event included empowering messages and meaningful activities centered on the theme “Rooted in Faith, Growing in Love.” Highlights included message exchanges, a biscuit blessing swap, art therapy, Scripture mirrors, and DIY picture pocket cards. The program aimed to strengthen mother-daughter bonds, nurture faith, and promote unity across generations and denominations.

Presentations were delivered by Children’s and Women’s Ministries leaders, Puan Faridah Lausin from MAUM, Puan Chong Choi Fong from SAB, Puan Linda Lagason from NSM, and a community leader Mdm. Dollie Juliet Gabrine. The event also welcomed non-Adventist guests and respected community figures such as Puan Abby Mae Joe, Puan Mimie Duasah, and Puan  Natalie Gaban with their daughters.
