In a powerful display of faith and commitment, the Northern Sabah Mission (NSM) Mission REACH26 & Stewardship Caravan 2026 concluded its week-long journey on March 28, successfully raising over RM380,000 for vital educational and social projects. The final collection significantly surpassed the initial target of RM300,000.

A Journey with a Mission
The caravan, which ran from March 22 to March 28, traveled across selected pit stops throughout the Northern Sabah region. This year’s event stood out from previous years by integrating the 2025 theme in the Southern Asia-Pacific Division; Mission REACH26. This initiative focuses on intentionally reaching new people, places, and possibilities to transform lives through hope and grace.
A total of 286 participants joined the convoy, representing the Peninsular Malaysia Mission, Sarawak Mission, Sabah Mission, and Northern Sabah Mission. They were joined by high-ranking leaders from the Malaysia Union Mission and the Southern Asia-Pacific Division.
Igniting Stewardship
The journey kicked off on the evening of March 22 at the Kudat Seventh-day Adventist Church. The event was officially launched by Pastor Francis Amer, Stewardship Director of the Southern Asia-Pacific Division, alongside Pastor Abel Bana, President of the Malaysia Union Mission.
Throughout the week, participants and local church members were inspired by stewardship devotionals and personal testimonies. The caravan aimed to encourage faithful giving among church members in Northern Sabah Mission and also to promote three primary local projects:
Asrama Pengharapan: A dormitory for needy students in Mombu, Tandek.
GASS Scholarship Fund: Financial aid for underprivileged students attending Goshen Adventist Secondary School.
Sekolah Rendah Advent Damai: The construction of new classrooms in Damai, Kota Marudu.
A Transformative Conclusion
The caravan reached its final destination at the Goshen Adventist Secondary School (GASS) Hall on March 28. The closing ceremony was marked by a deep sense of spiritual commitment, highlighted by the baptism of 14 new members.
In a stirring final appeal, Pastor Abel Bana called upon members from both within and outside the Northern Sabah Mission to commit their resources to the three primary local projects. The response was overwhelming; the combined total of pledges and collections from the various pit stops exceeded RM380,000.
“This journey was about more than just travel; it was about extending the light of hope to new territories,” Pastor Feldinand Sawanai, President of Northern Sabah Mission, noted in an interview after the closing ceremony. “Seeing the financial commitments exceed the fundraising goal proves that the spirit of stewardship is thriving not only in Northern Sabah Mission, but throughout Malaysia Union Mission.”
The success of the Northern Sabah Mission REACH26 & Stewardship Caravan 2026 serves as a testament to the mission’s commitment to education and the continued growth of the Adventist message in Northern Sabah territories.
