The MAUM Health Department, in collaboration with the Shape Up Seremban community, organized a Health Expedition at Prima Mall Seremban, Negeri Sembilan. The Health Expo – Seremban Chapter – commenced with the arrival of YB Nicole Tan, who was warmly welcomed by MAUM President Pr. Abel Bana, department directors, and members of the Petaling Jaya English Church Pathfinder Club at 11 AM on Sunday, 14 June.

During the opening ceremony, YB Nicole Tan highlighted the importance of adopting the NEWSTART lifestyle—an acronym that stands for Nutrition, Exercise, Water, Sunlight, Temperance, Air, Rest, and Trust—encouraging the community to embrace these health principles for better well-being. Following her remarks, the ShapeUp Team led a lively aerobic session, inviting everyone to participate. As a symbolic gesture to officially open the expo, a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on the first floor of the mall.

While the opening ceremony was underway on the ground floor, the Health Expedition had already begun operations on the first floor of the mall. Free health check-ups were offered, including Health Age Plus assessments, glucose and cholesterol testing, blood pressure checks, and counselling sessions with professional counsellors. Informational booths were also set up, featuring the NEWSTART lifestyle principles, as well as the Literature Evangelism (LE) booth, Master Guide (MG) booth, and the most popular attraction—the massage booth, where visitors enjoyed complimentary massages. The event attracted visitors from a diverse mix of Indian, Chinese, and Malay communities.

The main goal of the Health Expo was to reach out to the Seremban community through accessible health services, promoting awareness and lifestyle change. The organizing committee hopes that this initiative will encourage participants to enrol in the upcoming Six Weeks of Wellness program, a follow-up program designed to help individuals continue their journey toward better health.

The success of the Health Expedition would not have been possible without the unwavering support of dedicated volunteers. A total of 48 volunteers contributed their time and energy: 15 from the Northern Asia-Pacific Division (NSD), 15 from Petaling Jaya English Church (PJEC), 1 from Penang Adventist Hospital (PAH), 2 from Aenon, 10 from Klebang, 1 from Kluang, 4 from PEM headquarters, and many helpful hands from the Seremban Adventist Church and MAUM headquarters. Their collaborative spirit and commitment played a vital role in making the Health Expo a meaningful and impactful event for the community.

The Health Expedition in Seremban was a meaningful initiative that successfully reached out to the local community, promoting holistic well-being through the NEWSTART lifestyle and offering free, accessible health services. With the strong support of volunteers, the event not only fostered greater health awareness but also strengthened community bonds across cultural and faith backgrounds. The organizing committee remains hopeful that this effort will inspire many to take the next step by joining the upcoming Six Weeks of Wellness program—continuing the journey toward a healthier, balanced lifestyle guided by faith and practical health principles.
