The first Malaysia Union Mission (MAUM) Ministerial Spouses Association (MSA) Convention was successfully held from 16-18 May at Trove Hotel Johor Bahru. With the theme “Strong in Christ, Steadfast in Ministry,” the event marked a significant milestone in the history of the MSA, uniting over 120 ministerial spouses from across Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah, and Sarawak.

The convention was graced by the presence of key regional leaders, including Madam Danita Caderma, Ministerial Spouses Association Coordinator of the Southern Asia-Pacific Division (SSD), Pastor Rudi Situmorang, Ministerial Secretary of the Southern Asia-Pacific Division (SSD), and Pastor Abel Bana, President of Malaysia Union Mission. The event officially opened with a welcoming address from the MAUM Ministerial Spouse Association Coordinator, Madam Toisah Longgou, followed by a heartfelt keynote message by Pastor Abel Bana, celebrating and appreciating each ministerial spouse, emphasizing their importance in ministry.

Throughout the convention, participants were blessed with a series of inspiring messages from the Ministerial Secretary for the Peninsular Malaysia Mission, Pastor. Renie Ubara, on the role of the ministerial spouses in harvest 2025, while Madam Danita Caderma spoke on the quiet strength of the wives pleading and interceding for their minister husbands. The highlight of the Sabbath service was the sermon by Pastor Rudi Situmorang. He reminded the ministerial spouses to embrace the call into ministry. He shared, “If no one sees your deeds, your hard work, God never fails. He sees and knows them all,” while quoting Matthew 6:4. All messages presented focused on spiritual empowerment, emotional resilience, family life, and effective ministry partnerships.

In response, Madam Celise Somiun shared her appreciation for the opportunity to participate in the convention, sharing that although she is regarded as a new MS, she is ready and willing to learn how to be a supportive and responsible MS to her husband and in the ministry.

The MSA Convention in Johor Bahru has set a strong foundation for future gatherings, leaving an enduring impact on all who attended. In her commitment message, Madam Danita Caderma, reminded the participants to be faithful cupbearers in their marriage, motherhood, and ministry. It affirmed the importance of recognizing and empowering ministerial spouses, not only as partners in ministry but as leaders, encouragers, and spiritual anchors within the church community.
